Who we are
Meet the team
Hello! I’m Micheal O’Rourke, a Chartered Psychologist registered with both the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). I’m actively involved in several special interest groups and divisions within these organizations. Recently, I had the honor of being nominated by the PSI to represent them on the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPSYS) for cross-border mental health initiatives.
In addition to my work in Ireland and the UK, I’m also a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Mental Health Association (OMHA). My international membership with the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA) keeps me at the forefront of ADHD research, treatment practices, and education. This global collaboration ensures that I bring the latest evidence-based practices to my work and contribute to worldwide conversations about ADHD.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is centred around helping you navigate the complexities of life, relationships, and personal growth. I believe that open and honest communication is essential, and I encourage my clients to express themselves freely. Together, we work collaboratively to identify and address the issues that are most important to you. I approach my work with a biopsychosocial lens. I utilize a battery of assessment tools which helps me gather critical information across different areas of an individual's life, aiding in clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and care management.
Breaking Down Stigmas
I recognize that seeking help is a sign of strength, and I am dedicated to breaking down stigmas surrounding men's mental health. My aim is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and feelings. Whether it's through innovative ADHD treatments or comprehensive mental health assessments, I’m here to help you navigate your mental health with the expertise and compassion you deserve.
About Me
Beyond my professional life, I’m passionate about advancing mental health care and supporting individuals in their journey toward better mental health. In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature, whether it's running or walking mountains and spending time with my family. These activities not only help me recharge but also inspire my practice, reminding me of the importance of balance and self-care.
